I am so disappointed. Because this book was written by a Rheumotologist, whose wife has Fibro, and because the title said "the final chapter, " I had hope that I was going to learn something new. Nope, it is all his family's experience and everything else you can find using Google. I feel ripped off from someone who knows that I am too sick to work. I'd like a refund. If you've just been diagnosed or a doctor who wants to learn, this book's for you. Other wise don't bother.Product details

A touchingly personal narrative of the development of the identity of Fibromyalgia in the American Rheumatology community.
Dr. Goldenberg's book is amazing it is so helpful and so straight forward. It is immensely helpful. Its a super easy read and really helps explain things that are going on.
Much of the information I had heard of, but overall a very well written and informative book. I wish it was in paperback version so I could refer to certain pages easier. For me personally, I learned the importance of having a good attitude and not letting myself get so depressed some days. Also, I better understand how important regular exercise is, which on some days seems impossible. It gave me encouragement in dealing with this disease.
I have been treated for Fibromyalgia, off and on, for 20+ years now. I found this book very informative and validating in some respects. It is helpful to know that others suffer with the same symptoms, with which doctors often times get frustrated. It goes over some of the old strategies I have tried and given me a few new approaches to take. It is good to know that doctors are taking this condition more seriously.
Very informative and useful approach to a frustrating condition - highly recommended . Very easy to read but full of wise advice from a doctor who devoted himself to untangling the science of fibromyalgia and giving patients do-able solutions that can help them feel better.
I was diagnosed almost 10 yrs ago at a fairly young age..in my 20's. I have struggled and read and searched to find answers and compassion. This book grabbed my attention and I figured....what the heck? Let's see what this guy says! I read the entire book in 1 night ( of course I wasn't sleeping) and when I looked back...I had highlighted almost the entire book!!!!!! This book is a great source of information for the newly diagnosed or the old timers. But mostly I found it comforting that someone..somewhere out there is taking this seriously and there is hope for treatment.
I am a retired RN and have FMS. Over the years I have gained a lot of knowledge. This book clarified for me what really works based on Dr. Goldenberg's extensive research and his years of dedicated experience. Thank you Patty and Dr. Goldenberg for making a huge difference in my life and all FMS patients.
